The video from my talk at my London Artist Workshop last September is now available for purchase here. You can hear me chat about things like getting thrown out of a celebrity wedding, fasting, doing psychedelics, and other stupid stuff. You can also hear about my ideas on keeping inspired, connecting to random universal chaos, experimenting with your work, attracting the right clients that fit your style, staying in charge of your shoots, how to NOT want to please everyone, and indirect influence vs direct influence… amongst other subjects.  To find out about my Artist Workshops, you’ll find everything you need to know on my WORKSHOPS page. Also check out this awesome behind-the-scenes video from London & Italy.

** NEW TESTIMONIALS that just came in about the video:

“oh my god noa. i just watched the 1st hour of your london workshop video & i swear to the infinite universe that it has inspired me in ways i had forgotten & in a place i thought was dying… kudos for rocking all over the fucking place, seriously.” –Dawn.

“feather love workshop video watched, re-watched and could watch again!!! Fantastic & has stopped me going mad!! I N S P I R E D” –Rebecca.

Lisa flew me out to Arizona a couple weeks ago to do a shoot with her for her upcoming album. A driver picked me up and took me to her stunning property where the most delightful meal was waiting for me. Lisa is quiet the gastronomical genius (homemade rose jam!? I’m obsessed). We immediately clicked and connected. I noticed how much of Larry Moss‘ workshop had rubbed off on me during this shoot… (I attended Larry Moss’ 4-day intensive actors Masterclass workshop in LA a few weeks ago with my actor buddies Kestrin & Sarah and was utterly moved and overwhelmed with inspiration. I strongly suggest every artist should try to audit his workshop! Intense!) Anyway, it certainly affected how I connected with and directed my client and my shoot. Lisa also asked me to snap some photos of her 2 beautiful kids… Thanks for taking such good care of me Lisa! xx

This session was shot on digital, 35mm film, Holga and Polaroid.

Below- Polaroid.

I love how this Polaroid of the kids came out.

A real of show understanding – both digital and conventional photography.

twiggs - oh i want to be like you, with my style that is, but fearless like you… even though i try to make what i feel like doing, i kind of wanted to be more fearless and try different things! it’s such a conventional country though… but you’ll inspire me, i know you will! 🙂 have a great day noah! twiggs

How I feel about the word “Vintage” in regards to modern wedding photography… read it all (plus the bitchy comments) on East Side Bride. Yet another unintentionally “controversial” post – the last time I guest posted, it turned into another comment bicker-fest…. love it.

People have always told me that I talk with my hands a lot… I was just editing my London Workshop video and as I was scrubbing through it, I realized it’s true! I’m cuckoo with the hands!… freak… (video shot by Son Of Shark Pig, aka Pappin, & this clip was edited & processed by me).

More about my workshops here.

a love supreme - ha! you are awesome…hands and all!

If you haven’t gotten a chance to check it out yet, I am extremely thrilled to share my new portfolio site,… it took forever but it’s finally up and running. I wanted to move forward from the flash design, the music, the giant logo etc and just have a good space to feature my work. My idea was to build sort of a tapestry of my images that work all together looking at them as one piece (you can zoom out on your browser to populate more images per row), and also be able to view them individually in a clean and simple environment. Designed by my dear client/friend, the brilliantly talented Jenny Ryf Doucedame (remember their wedding & their couple session?) and programmed by Nick Iverson– an absolute pleasure to work with! Also, during the entire design process, Jenny and I managed to converse entirely via email using strictly Summer Heights High lingo… SO professional… Jenny also happens to have a rad new t-shirt line out right now: TUCO. You may also notice my blog design has been slightly updated, as well as my infofaq’s pages.

Eposure_Tim - Love your site and love your imagery.
Happily save up my money to fly over to the states and have me and my families’ portrait shot by you…
    Tim :o)

In our 17 years together he went everywhere with me, every move to every city and every house. When I first brought him home he was 4 weeks old and could fit his entire little body into the palm of my hand. Since I was 18 years old, he loved me, followed me all around… for half of my life he has been my heart. He is the greatest and most beautiful creature I have ever known. My Grand Teacher, the only other love of my life.

Russia, The King, has died. In my arms, at home. We buried his sweet little body outside near his favorite bush, wrapped him in a beautiful scarf, with flowers and his toy. Back to Nature. We played this song at his funeral. My heart and soul are broken. I can feel his love- so big, eternal, incredible, unconditional- still lives. I can feel him kissing my face in the morning, kissing my tears, not wanting me to cry for him. Although all I do is cry for him. I miss his sweet little mouth, his gorgeous body, his smell, his purrs… and his absolutely overwhelming beauty, inside and out.

This has certainly been the biggest loss and pain I have known. He loved me when nobody else seemed to. He loved me even at times when I didn’t love myself.  He kissed me when I was in pain. He talked to me, sang to me, thanked me, took care of me. He made me laugh, filled my heart with splendid joy, warmed my bones and my spirit. I can still feel him taking care of me.

Russia- my best friend, my baby boy, my teacher, my king:
You Raised Your Flag Up Into My Heart.

Thank you for loving me so much. I have never known a greater beauty.
Forever Love,
Your mom, Noa

RUSSIA. 1993 – Dec 2nd 2011.

Always by my side….

(photo below by AnnaMaria Stephens for Apartment Therapy)

Last days- below are some self portraits and also photos by Stuart. Thank you Russia for letting us take these.

The 3rd-Eye kiss we always did…

Russia, if this enormous pain I feel now is in exchange for being loved by you, I would do it all over again, a thousand times. Goodbye my love, my heart, my baby. You are forever ineffable. (Thank you to Jane Blevin & Doodle for helping me through this time. You know. You know. And thank you to Zac & Tomas, who dug his grave, stood with us, and helped usher his perfect soul onward. And biggest thanks of all to his daddy Stuart, who saw him for who he was, loved him as much as I did, and who has taken care of me and Russia for so long. Stuart, he loved you as deep and wide as the universe.)

My sweet, beautiful friend Sarah Carter was over here for a weekend in July and stayed with us during her Comic Con panel she did for Falling Skies, the TNT show that she stars in… We drank wine by the pool and I shot this photo of her on 35mm film… be still my heart! She is currently shooting Season 2 of Falling Skies in Canada. (I miss you Sarah! When you coming back to Cali?) … You can see the other photo session I did with Sarah at her home HERE.

This is the wedding I shot up in the Catskills Mountains in NY when Hurricane Irene hit! (You can read about that here.)

We got an awesome feature on EAST SIDE BRIDE today! To read all about what Margot had to say about her beautiful, Irene-drenched wedding and see tons more photos, go to East Side Bride.

I am completely in love with these beautiful people… and their taste in music is epic! They invited me over to their Brooklyn apartment for a drink when we got back from the Catskills- more photos of them and the NY trip here.

Venue: Onteora Mountain House.
